2nd March,New Delhi:- To address the growing urban housing requirements in in India, the Ministry of Housing and Urban Affairs, GOI, has implemented the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana – Urban (PMAY-U) with a vision of providing houses to all Indians by 2022 which is expected to be 40% of India’s population by 2030. To achieve this, a paradigm shift in technology using large scale construction under PMAY(U) is envisaged to get the best available construction technologies across the globe.
To achieve this vision, the Ministry of Housing and Urban Affairs founded “Global Housing Technology Challenge-India (GHTC-India). The GHTC - India aims to identify and mainstream a basket of innovative construction technologies from across the globe for Housing Construction sector that are sustainable, eco-friendly and disaster-resilient. The GHTC-India’s grand Expo cum Conference commenced today, March 2, at Vigyan Bhawan, New Delhi in the gracious presence of Hon’ble Prime Minister, Shri. Narendra Modi. The 2-day long Expo cum Conference provided a unique opportunity for B2B interactions with global as well as Indian industry partners and explore further areas of collaboration, signing of MoUs and work in India on housing construction sector. CREDAI is the Knowledge Partner at Global Housing Technology Challenge India.
